I create rhythm using
space and proportion,
and harmony with
light and dark,
I build tension between
thick and thin, and
unity from many parts.

My name is Troy Leinster,
I'm a typeface designer.

Typemasters: Type Design Coaching

Weekly one-on-one or small group sessions
Seeing your typeface in the wild for the first time is one of the biggest achievements for a type designer. But making a typeface is labour intensive and can sometimes feel like the process will never end.

Type Design Intensive

Principles of Typeface Design (10 weeks)
Learning the skill of typeface design is not only a great addition to a graphic designers skillset, but also a rewarding way to express yourself through the work you create. A hands-on experience will train your eye to see space, proportion, and weight, enhancing lettering projects, logo design, and custom type.

Typeface Design: Prototype & Pitch

Group Coaching (5 participants)
With the recent advent of vaults, drawers, seeds, and other buckets to hold unfinished fonts, it’s becoming the norm for designers to offer prototypes as viable products to pitch to prospective clients or foundries. Join Troy and five other participants to develop a single or multi-style typeface prototype.

Glyphs App for Power Users

Two-day weekend workshop with Rainer Erich Scheichelbauer
Two-day intensive workshop for Glyphs power users, editor switchers or swingers.
